Mylène Pelletier

Mylène Pelletier, native of New Brunswick and holder of five Canadian Championship titles in Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics (group level), started her tango career in Montreal in 1996. While completing her Bachelor’s degree in Theatre from Concordia University and attending classes at the Ecole de Mime Omnibus of Montreal, Mylène traveled to Argentina to perfect her technique with masters such as  Roberto Herrera, Graciela Gonzalez, Chicho Frumboli,  Lorena Ermocida and Estaban Moreno among others.

Over the course of the last twelve years, Mylène has dedicated herself to teaching, choreography and performing as well as the development of the technical aspects of the dance itself in the Montreal community. She has participated as interpreter and/or choreographer in several productions and television shows such as Conquerant de l'inutile where she shared the stage with Gilles Pelletier, Carmen Tango directed by Réal Bossé, An Opera-Tango directed by Mark Richter, L’Auberge du Chien Noir, Le Plaisir croît avec l’Usage, Tango Macadam, Tango Obsession and Mental Block. Vladimir Sidorov

Gamaliel Martinez Fonseca

Born in Mexico, Gamaliel Martinez Fonseca studies Dance and Design choreography at the Centro Univesitario de la danza au Mexique D.F.  

To complete his artistic formation, he integrates different styles and techniques from Break dance, Africain dances and Afro-Contemporain, Afro-Cubain, capoeira, Afro-Bresilien and latine dances.

His strong and various experience gave him polyvalence and creativity with a particular movement quality. Gamaliel's first professional works started in Mexico with contemporain dance companies such as: Zapar productiones, Agave azul, Caverna 7, Compañia de Mauricio Rendon, Boss productions, Studio 3 and diverse tv shows participations on TV Azteca and Televisa.

Since his establishment in Montreal, he worked for Destins Croises, Cirque Eloize, the Cirque du soleil, the Opera de Montréal (Aida, Starmania),  and for Les Sortiléges danses du monde.  He also realized  different national and international artistic tours.

François Marion

Fernanda Leal

Born in Mexico, Fernanda Leal started dancing Mexican Folklore, then dove into ballet as well as jazz and contemporary (Graham, Horton). She worked with various artists from Mexico, Cuba, United States and Holland. Fernanda always tried to expand her dance vocabulary and her versatility to feed her creativity as a performer and choreographer. In 2001, she met Stephanie Saland (former NYBC principal) and became her apprentice and assistant for the next five years in Seattle. There, she discovered her passion for teaching. Fernanda regularly teaches workshops on contemporary Ballet (Stephanie Saland influences), Contemporary Jazz and conditioning for dancers.  She is a Gyrotonic and Gyrokinesis instructor. She is currently  studing  the  Cecchetti   Method  Cetification for dancers.

 Fernanda has danced for many companies including: “Ballet teatro de la Habana” (Veracruz, Mexico), “Ballet Arte Neoclasico” ( Mexico city) , Arteria 7 (Mexico City) , “Unexpected Company” (Seattle Wa.) and “Sonia Dawkins Prism Dance Theatre” (Seattle Wa.) Gislane Dote Virtuo Danse Company since 2007  (Montreal ) John Carney Dance Company 2008 (Montreal),  Guest  Artist on  "contraste" with Ekspresyon Dance  company 2009(Montreal). In 2007 she moved to Montreal and performs as a freelance dancer.

Alejandro Villalobos

Alejandro Villalobos is born in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz Mexico. With a formation in contemporary dance, classical dance and mexicain folklore, he graduates from the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes de Mexico with the title of ''Concert Dance Best Interprete''.  Alejandro completes his formation in Canada with Transformation, in Montreal and at the Domaine Forget, Charlevoix. He begins dancing tango in Buenos Aires, Argentina at the Mora Godoy School and continues his learning with Mylène Pelletier at Air de Tango, Montreal. He has been dancing contemporain dance and latine dances with ARMS of Nicolas Dixon, Electrotango, Tropicalissima ''Ma terre cubaine'', Danse ton ADN at ''La nuit Blanche'', Groupe de danse Johanne Gour  in ''D'un lieu où tous sont admis''.

Alejandro also choreographed pieces at Foro Experimental, at the Auditorio Josefina Lavalle, and at the Centro de Convenciones, en Mexico.  

François Marion

Suzanne Lavoie

Born in Quebec, Suzanne studied Biology at the Université du Québec à Rimouski. She started dancing cubain salsa in Edmonton, Alberta with Salsaddiction before learning tango in Montreal with Agata Jakubczuk et Gerardo Sanchez, she then dedicated herself to tango. She explored and learned with Argentinean tango masters from Buenos Aires;  Hugo Daniel, Aurora Lubiz, Jorge Firpo, Karina Guillén Luciano Brigante, Esteban Moreno, and Claudia Codega, and completed her training with Mylène Pelletier in Montreal. She joined the teacher's team of the dance school Air de Tango where she performs as a professional dancer under the direction of Mylène Pelletier.  She has been dancing at the Atlantic Dance Festival in Moncton, at Montreal Just for Laugh, and during the Festival International de Tango de Montreal.  Suzanne is teaching tango since 2008, her pedagogical approach is personalized to each student, to make the dance accessible to everyone. She teaches from a solid foundation of understanding the core movements and technique, in order to expand further into fluidity and sensitivity.

Marc-André Gautier- violin

For his first performance as a soloist at nine years old with the Montreal Metropolitain Orchestra, Marc-André Gauthier was acclaimed by the public and the critics. He became known as one of the top young Canadian prodigies of the end of the twentieth century.

Born in Montreal in 1978, Marc-André studied with greatest classical violin masters including Isaac Stern, Miriam Fried, Jean-Jacques Kantorow.

Grantee of the Canada Council for the Arts, he received three times the Joseph Gingold scholarship at Indiana University where he obtained an Artist Diploma. He also obtained a superior degree diploma from Verbier Academy in Switzerland, the International Mozarteum in Austria and a 3rd cycle (PhD) at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Paris.

A true phenomenon, he won many national and international competitions and performed as a soloist with orchestras in Canada including the National Art Center, Montreal, Metropolitain, Toronto, Quebec and many others. He was also invited by many prestigious chamber music festivals in North and South America, Europe and the Middle East.

An accomplished musician, his exceptional technical ability and his great feeling for music allow him to explore different musical styles including jazz. In 2004, bayan accordionist Vladimir Sidorov and double bassist François Marion joined Marc-André to create a unique trio, MAG TRIO!

Vladimir Sidorov

Vladimir Sidorov - accordion

Well before he received his masters in Music at the Astrakhan State Conservatory (Russia) in 1994, Vladimir Sidorov had charmed audiences with his virtuosity and the finesse of his interpretations. Upon completion of his studies, he was awarded the highly coveted title of “Concert Musician”.

Sidorov began his international solo career in 1997 with a tour of Hungary, Croatia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, moving to Montréal later the same year. In 2001, he recorded his first solo album, and later took part in a Hindemith concert with the musicians of the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal under the direction of Charles Dutoit. Among other activities that year, he was also invited to join the Orchestre symphonique de Québec for a work by conductor Yoav Talmi.

In 2002, he composed the music for a work by choreographer Laurence Lemieux inspired by Dostoyevsky’s novel Poor Folk that toured to Montréal, Québec City and Saint Petersburg. In 2003, Sidorov encountered percussionist Marie-Josée Simard with whom he developed an original program for a previously non-existent type of ensemble (Bayan, vibraphone and percussion). Together, the duo performed a 12-concert tour of the province of Quebec, and recorded a CD entitled Rencontre on the Tout Crin label.

Vladimir Sidorov’s broad repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, and includes his own compositions and transcriptions for the bayan. He is a frequently invited soloist with numerous musical ensembles, both in Canada and Russia.

François Marion obtained a bachelor degree in music from the University of Montreal. He specialized in jazz studying with Michel Donato, Denis Labrosse et Frederic Alarie.

For the past fifteen years, his instruments have vibrated in a variety of musical programs. He played with many artists including Dorothée Berryman, Térez Moncalm, Marc-André Gauthier (MAG), Vladimir Sidorov, Jano Bergeron, Charles Papasoff, Alexandre Cattaneo, Bet.e and Stef, Robert Marien, Yves Lambert, Turyn Von Pranke, Richard Abel, Al Martino, Connie Francis. He performed in a numbers of festivals in Canada and abroad like the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Off Jazz Festival, the Saskatoon Festival, the « Festival de Musique du Monde » in Louisiana and the « Festival de Marne » in Paris.

François was involved in numerous recordings including the last album of Yves Lambert « Récidive », Térez Montcalm and many artists of the Quebec world and jazz community. He can adapt to the musical styles of the artists that he performs with.
